Of course not. ➜ He forcefully made her cut her hair because he was jealous that another man touched it. ➜ He tormented and raped (there's no other word for it) her on their wedding night and continued to assault her for years. ➜ He forced her to marry him as soon as she turned eighteen. ➜ He mentally and psychologically tortured her by regularly threatening her family and destroyed the last gift from her mother which she was very attached to. ➜ He slapped her so hard for calling him a bastard that she fell to the ground. ➜ He kidnapped and imprisoned her in his mansion and she cried herself to sleep almost every night. ➜ He killed a man in cold blood in front of her. I'm kind of questioning now why I even gave it 2 stars. And if we're romanticizing this behavior, then we're doomed. ![]() ![]() I've never wanted to strangle someone so much. ![]() His actions towards Olivia were monstrous and I couldn't forgive him for them even after his explanation which made no sense. I think for me the hero was simply irredeemable. ![]() This is my first book from Astrid Jane Ray and sadly I didn't love it as much as I wanted to. ![]()
